Command Trailer

The Command Trailer may look like any other trailer on the outside, but on the inside it's a state of the art command post that is utilized to manage search operations. The command trailer is where the "overhead team," or incident command staff, reside during  search operation. It is where all information goes to, and is where information is given out from.

The trailer has two computers. The main computer is where the Planning Officer does their work. From this work terminal the Planning Officer can access a special mapping program. This software is called ArcGIS Mapping. This software enables the Planning Officer to bring up several different "layers" to the main map of Warren County. The user can choose to show all roads, or just main roads. They can choose to show high tension lines, water lines, gas lines, fire hydrant locations, documented cave openings, projected flood planes, and other useful information. It even has aerial photographs of the entire county and the user is able to determine what is in someone's backyard.
It also has the ability to accept GPS coordinates and will show on the map where those coordinates go to.
The Planning Officer also has the ability to use a scanner to scan a picture of the missing person and upload it onto the missing person flier. Search teams can then be given a map of the area of they're operating in and on the backside of it is a picture of the missing person with their information.

The second computer is for the Operations Officer. This computer terminal enables Operations to keep track of all search teams and what they've done. It can also be used to keep a communications log and to maintain important ICS documentation.

There is also a "communications bank" inside the trailer. This allows the Incident Command staff to communicate with WCR personnel and various agencies, in and out of Warren County.

The command trailer also stows other support equipment, such as extra flash lights, rain ponchos, medical equipment, and so forth. It also holds one of the department's AN/PVS-14 Night Vision Monoculars.
